Who it’s for › Close-knit churches

For churches where everyone knows everyone

The short answer: Synodo gives a close-knit church one place for its Bible study and its announcements: the study and your notes for leading it, a reminder the day before, one conversation for the week, and announcements that reach everyone’s phone, with nothing more to set up as you add groups.

Is Synodo worth it for a church with one Bible study?

Yes. One group is where most churches start. Your Bible study gets the week’s passage and questions for everyone, a Leader Guide only you see for preparing, attendance in a couple of taps, and a reminder that goes out the day before on its own. When a second study or a men’s breakfast starts, it is one more group in the same place.

How do I get announcements out to the whole church?

With one tap: Groups → Whole-church announcements makes a group with everyone at your church in it, including people who join later, set to announcements only. You post, and everyone gets it as a notification on their phone or computer. If someone replies, it comes to you privately, so a note about Sunday’s potluck never turns into thirty replies.

Where do prayer requests go during the week?

In the group’s conversation, next to the study, instead of a group text that some people are missing from. Prayer requests, photos, meal sign-ups for a family with a new baby, and who is coming on Wednesday all live there, and anyone who joins later can scroll back.

I’m the pastor, the group leader and the admin. How much work is it to set up?

Very little. Sign up, make your group, pick or write a study, and invite people by email or show the group’s code on Sunday for them to scan. You can be the admin and the leader at the same time, there is no Planning Center or other database to connect first, and you can look around a sample church before you decide.

Will people who aren’t good with technology be able to use it?

If they can open a text message, they can use it. Synodo works in the web browser on any phone or computer and adds to the home screen like an app, with nothing to download from an app store. Joining takes a name, an email and a password, or a scan of the code you show on Sunday, and your notes for leading print if you would rather lead from paper.

What does it cost?

$49 a month for the whole church, with every person and every group included, so it costs the same when you are thirty people as when you are three hundred. It starts with a 30-day free trial, and you need no card to look around a sample church.
